Here is Ashley's main email. She is loving the Mexico MTC (CCM) and doing great!
Hola! so much happens in one week, it is impossible to tell you everything! First off Hermana Evans and I are perfect together, we think the same things, plan lessons great together, and we literally told the same "i didnt grow a foot or two before my mission" joke at our farewells. It is so crazy how much your life changes here. My first day here, my favorite thing was getting my name tag, but since I have been here I have even more respect for it now. It is super humbling that my name is right next to Christs. I almost dont feel worthy to wear his name and represent him, but I have to remember that he called me to represent him and he trusts me with his name. I know the MTC is not for everyone, but I really like it here, there is no other place or time to spent all day focusing on the gospel, weather you are studying the scriptures or learning the lessons in spanish.
Spanish is coming easier now, I can totally tell the difference with the gift of toungs. I have learned more in a few weeks than in a year of spanish in high school. I am still pretty bad, but I can at leats say the basics of what i want to say to people, and with a lot of help from el Espiritu i can understand the basics of what people say to me. I have learned that I may not be a good teacher or good at the language, but that doesnt mean i cant help people. At the very least I hope investegators can see my love of the gospel and for Jesus Christ, and be able to feel the spirit. They might simply be impresed by the fact that I took the time to talk to them.
We finnished teaching Jorge, he is now our evening teacher, his real mane is Hermano Murillo. We now have two investegators at the same time (our day time teachers) but we start teaching lessons to volunteers and members this week.
I am so happy here. Besides P days, sundays are the best. we just go to church, devotionals, and watch church vedios. This last weeks vedio was The Testemant, it was awesome. Oh also i forgot to tell you last week that you dont know who is speaking in sacrament until after the sacrament is passed, and the president just calls on random people to give talks, so you have to wright a talk each week. This last weeks topis was the fall, and I was called on. PS sacrament is all in spanish.
Today we got to go to the visitors center and see the Temple, it was so amazing! we watched a movie on families and how they can be together forever and it just made me want to share this message with everyone. The CCM rules!
Well, that's it in a nutshell! She sounds great and check out the other photos! She was also so happy to see her friend Hermana Elliott Sipple, who arrived this week, she got a cookie gift package from Grandma Horne, she and Hermana Evans made their bunks into a fort, and they got to go to the Mexico Temple Visitor Center. The Temple is closed for renovation, so she doesn't get to go inside, but she loved the visitor center.
Now we wait another week for the next adventure update!
