"Ok, drum roll......... My new address for the next six weeks and maybe longer is...

(I'm sure she would love letters from any and all!)
Yay! So, I will start from the beginning, the day we landed in DC. The Riggs had also just gotten off their own plane too because they had a conference in Utah about the new iPads. Anyway we met up with all the new missionaries, including Annie Orr's companion (Sister Orr didn't come because she needed surgery :( ) the Riggs drove us around DC so we got to quickly see all the sights. We are allowed to go to DC once every six weeks on a p day! I'm so excited for that! We had a great meal at their house (American food was fantastic for the first time in six weeks) Also because the Riggs just got home that day too, we got to stay at a hotel instead of their house for the first night. Hermana Evans and I tried to make the most of our last day as companions :( we can't wait until we are companions again! The next day was transfer meeting, dun dun dunnnnn!!! My new companion and trainer is Hermana Moberly. Hermana evans's companion is my new companions old companion, so we just switched. But we are in different areas, HM and I are whitewashing an area so we are both new and don't know the people yet. We are in the Sudley Ward, and we cover Manassas and Manassas Park. HM and I are pretty similar, we like Disney and Harry Potter and we are both pretty chill, I think we will get along fine. Her Spanish is fantastic! It's crazy!
At first I really missed the CCM, I still do miss it there and I miss my family I had there, but it is pretty cool here too, I know it will take some getting used to. I am so grateful for this mission, because it seriously is the best of both worlds! I'm in America, but I get to speak Spanish and the people that do speak Spanish here are (so far) pretty nice! There are people here from Paraguay, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, everywhere! Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish I know the Lord is helping me understand what they are saying, and also I'm so surprised by how much help I receive not to be shy. We have already found three really solid new investigators! One day we were trying to visit a member that lived in our apartment complex (we didn't want to go far because we couldn't use our car due to weather and we had already been walking in the snow all day) and when we knocked on the door the lady that answered let us in right away so we thought she was the member we were looking for. Aneli is super nice and actually not a member, she does however have a friend that is a member and she said that she can see a difference in her friends life, she said she is always happy and at peace. She is super interested in our message and has great potential, however she lives with her girlfriend, so that will be a fun lesson when we get there. We also have a golden family!! I am so excited to teach them again, they said that they have been searching for a church to go to, but they don't feel good about any so far. The dad even told us that he and his buddy went to go get a tattoo, but before he got it, he just felt like that isn't something he should be doing so he didn't get one....awesome right!? So those are a few of our good investigators, we did have one guy invite us in and he basically just wanted to argue that the bible is the only scripture and that we were wrong, but if that is rejection, I think I can handle it."
Ashley also tells her Mom--
"So ya, we have a car which is awesome, but if the weather is bad it is too dangerous to drive, so Saturday we had to walk everywhere! Thank you for the big coat, I love it and I would die without it! We also have iPads now that we use, they are awesome. It is so much easier to find people and keep track of their information on the iPad! But I think we will be getting our new iPads, the ones we get to keep, on Wednesday.
Anyway, it's pretty cool here, life is good. I can honestly say I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I put my papers in, but it will be a grand adventure. Here are some pics I took on the iPad, the pics I took on my camera I will send later."
Ashley's new companion and trainer is Hermana Moberly. Hermana Moberly has been on her mission for 7 months. She is from California, a couple months older than Ashley, went to BYU (Mom likes her already), and likes Disney and Harry Potter--same as Ashley. Ashley says they get along great so far. Ashley is loving American food again and even ate today at one of her favorite places: Cafe Rio! However she says: "Oh also apperantly the spanish speakers love to feed missionaries, HM said it is common to have three dinners...and we have to eat all of it!!! im gonna get so fat!"
So glad she is safe and off to a great start! Can't wait to hear from her next week. Enjoy her photos!
