¡Hola todos!
This week was a good one! First, it was Elder Ruiz's last few
days so ALL the members that signed up to feed us (the Hermanas,) also
invited the Elders. We literally ate with the elders 4 days in a row
by accident! the Sanchez family had a fun BBQ, and I had a burger!
(its been a while.)
Also, the highlight of my week was seeing one of the members from
Sudley, Hna Delgadillo!!! I guess she works in this area, because we
were driving and I saw hew walking on the sidewalk, so you know I
pulled over so hard to talk to her and take a picture. Aww, she is my
favorite!
We had Spanish Forum, and it was pretty good, it was just funny
because Hna DeBry and I had already figured out the things that we
needed to improve on before we talked about it at Spanish Forum. We
are on top of the game!
Transfers came and I get to kill Hna DeBry! We are going to work
so hard this transfer and see A TON of miracles! Our district now has
Elder Pina, so it is going to be a fun transfer!! I cannot believe
that I am almost half way done with my mission! It can't be true! I
just got here! I want to stay forever!
Saturday we did service ALL DAY, we cleaned the chapel and then
helped a lady move. Then we had to hurry and change to go to a baptism
of one of Hna DeBry's old investigators, it was so cute! There were
only a few members at his baptism, the majority of us were
missionaries. We also stopped at a Taco Truck on the way to the
baptism, I love surprising people when we speak Spanish.
Oh, we have an AWESOME investigator Katherinne! She is really
good friends with a member, and she is so golden! She asks her friend
if they can read the Book of Mormon together when they have free time
at school, she has been praying about it and feels that it is true.
She also says that she can totally feel a difference when she is in
her house and her friends house because the spirit is there. So she
will be getting baptized soon, the only dilemma is that they almost
never have time to meet with us and her friend doesn't go to our ward,
they go to a group in Leesburg and she would rather go there, so its a
little complicated. Pray for her!
This transfer is all about giving everything to the Lord and
seeing miracles. We have already started to see improvement and I know
that I am going to grow and learn a lot this transfer. We are focusing
a lot of "faith" and how not only does faith proceed the miracle, but
it is the power of faith that causes the miracle. Also, faith is not
just believing as hard as you can, faith requires action. "Belief and
testimony and faith are not passive principles. They do not just
happen to us. Belief is something we choose--we hope for it, we work
for it, and we sacrifice for it. We will not accidentally come to
believe in the Savior and His gospel any more than we will
accidentally pray or pay tithing. We actively choose to believe, just
like we choose to keep other commandments.", "Our actions are the
evidence of our belief and become the substance of our faith." (Choose
to Believe, Clayton).
Love you all, thank you for your support and prayers!

So, for those who don't know the "mission lingo"--when Ashley says she gets "to kill Hna Debry" that just means that this is Hna Debry's last transfer until she goes home, and Ashley is so happy to get to stay with her this transfer!
Ashley sent some cute photos this week, one of which includes this photo where the girls are dressed all the same, even down to the color of their socks. Ashley said they had both dressed that day, and had NO IDEA what the other was wearing and when they saw the matching outfits--picture and posting worthy! Great minds think alike! (see more photos on the "photos" page!)
These girls will do well for Hna Debry's last transfer! I can't wait to hear all about the great miracles that will happen these next six weeks! And, miracles come in small packages sometimes--not always big and grandiose! Missionaries are Miracles in and of themselves! And some are short, and some are tall, they are humble and learning and growing, and it's amazing to see what other many miracles come due to their service for the Lord!
God loves ALL his children and grants miracles daily. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps us to recognize these miracles and understand more about our Father and the miracles He sends--the greatest miracle of course, was the blessing and sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ!
