Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my two companions and six of my best friends this week. That is one of the hardest things about being a missionary. We have such a high capacity to love people, but we are always saying goodbye, weather it be we are moving wards, changing companions, or leaving the mission. However, it is also one of the greatest things about being a missionary--getting to know and love so many people!! "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things" right? (2 Nephi 2:11)
On a brighter note, I got my brand new companion Hermana Rasmussen! She is awesome and full of all that Greenie Fire!! AND my old companion Hna DeBry came to visit!! It was so great! I am so excited for this transfer!
Some highlights of the week... last P day we were on our way to Great Falls, dressed and ready to go, when we get a call from someone named Jonathan. He said that a friend had given him a pamphlet with this number on it and wanted to know more about the church!!! So cool, however, it ended up that the only time he could meet with us that week was right then! So we ran back upstairs and changed into our proselyting clothes and taught him the first lesson! I am so excited to teach him more!
Also, the day before transfers we met another super prepared lady who is pregnant and just lost her husband in a car accident. Such a sad situation, but she already knows that the missionaries were not put in her path by coincidence.
We are seeing miracles everyday, and I am so grateful for the chance I get to be a missionary and grow closer to Christ.
Ashley did mention that it was hard to say goodbye to her past companions and great friends, but is happy to still get to be on her mission, and with a darling new "Greenie." She has loved having two of her old companions come back to DC to visit! Ashley has only 12 weeks left, but I know she will make great use of every minute! Until next week...
