Hello, unfortunately I don't remember much of this past week, sorry. I do remember that we went to the visitors center, Court, and that we celebrated New Years.
We went to the visitors center with our investigators, surprise surprise, and it was super packed as usual. The concert that night was supposed to be a Hispanic one and we were super excited, but unfortunately they canceled and is was a group of older ladies singing acapella instead... It was an interesting experience.
Court was a fun experience. Unfortunately, one of our investigators was taken to jail a few weeks ago for domestic violence. We were going to go visit her in jail, but she got bailed out before we could. This week was her court date and because she didn't have anyone, we went with her for moral support. It was pretty fun to watch. The judge was very rude to both parties, I felt like we were watching Caso Cerrado (the Hispanic version of judge Judy)! The funniest part of that whole experience however was that we ran into another one of our investigators at court! Haha.
New Year's was fun. We got together as a zone and played a bunch of games like Wolf and Signs. We didn't get to stay up until 12, nor did we want to (but we had a count down anyway). Sleep is a precious thing as a missionary.
Oh ya, we also had exchanges this week, and Hna Riddle came to me. We had a blast!
This week I really have been reflecting on the apostasy and restoration of the gospel. We watched the Joseph Smith movie with an investigator and it reminded me of just how much so many people had to sacrifice for the gospel and the Book of Mormon. I think of how Joseph Smith gave his life for the truth, and also so many of the Book of Mormon prophets that gave their lives as well. " For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do." (2 Nephi 25:23)
I hope that we can all start off this new year with goals to draw closer to our savior Jesus Christ. And that we might "read diligently" the words which so many prophets have "labored diligently" and sacrificed so much to write. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it is not only another testament OF Jesus Christ, but another testament FROM Him.

It's so great to get Ashley's letters and learn from HER! One of my New Year's resolutions it to read the Book of Mormon a little every day!
Ashley also mentioned that her homecoming date will be on July 15th! Will be so awesome!!! BUT, I will continue enjoying the last 6 months of her mission!
