it was really three weeks combined into one! Here are some of the
Tuesday we went to check up on Julio, he was working but he said
he would be at church for sure this week ( ya guess what didn't
happen...) so we were walking back to our car and passed a family that
was outside, we waved and said hello but kept walking. We got in our
car, but I felt like we should probably talk to them, so we got back
out and started talking with them. We gave them a copy of the BOM and
asked when we could come by to teach them more. After lots of excuses
for us not to come back, they said we could meet them outside in the
same spot so we could teach them as they go for their walk. To our
amazement, they were actually there on the street waiting for us when
they said they would be! Yes, I love when people do what they say they
We did lots of crafts this week, I started making another Juego
de la Vida board game, so we can play it with out investigators or
less actives that have kids. I also made a cool treasure map
decoration for our apartment because President Riggs talked about how
we need to make our goals our "QUEST" and people that go on quests
don't let anything get in the way of them accomplishing it. And we
also Heart Attacked one of the members in our ward. We always go over
to her house and she is soooo nice! She always feeds us (usually food
from Costco) and she is just the best!
Thursday will forever go down in history in my mission book, it
was the first time I had a car break down!!! We had just picked up
some food from a members house when our car started making a
horrifying noise. We popped the hood (not that we knew anything about
cars) to see what was wrong. It was super hot, and some guy came over
and noticed that out fan belt was broken. We were basically in the
middle of nowhere, but it was a blessing we broke down when we did
because we were literally 5 feet away from a gas station AND we had
food! Haha, so we had to cancel our plans and wait forever until the
other Hermanas could pick us up.
Friday we had Tiwis installed into all the mission cars.
Basically it monitors if your seatbelt is on, your speed, where you
are, if you are driving past bedtime, who is driving, and everything!
Three strikes and you are out! But we have only gotten a warning twice
from Tim. We named our Tiwi T.I.M (Tiwi is mean) because it yells at
you when you make a mistake. We also had a fantastic conference with
president Riggs, he is so fantastic, we are just waiting for him to be
put into the quorum of the 70 once he gets back home in a few weeks!!!
We are sooooo sad to see him go!
Saturday we ate at Cafe Rio and a super nice lady paid for us!
She said she was happy to pay for the sister missionaries, she will
get so many blessings for doing that!!!
We also drove farther away from our home that we have ever been before and we saw some chickens, so naturally we got out of the car to take pictures. One thing lead to another and I caught one, it was pretty funny.
After we got home Hna Riddle and I had a mini photo shoot with our matching T-shirts we got from a cool store called Five Bellow (everything there is 5 dollars or less!).
This week we have been studying a really cool talk called the
Fourth Missionary. It's awesome and it makes us want to try harder
everyday! This week I learned that following the promptings of the
spirit is not hard even when you think it is. No matter what the
prompting is, if you follow it you will be blessed. I learned that to
truly benefit from my mission I need to forget about myself and do
God's will, not my own. I also learned that Satan is fighting so hard
against missionary work, and he is just making it harder for everyone.
BUT two people that beat Satan this week were one of our
investigators, Sonia, and the less active we have been working with
forever, Ashley. They came to church this week, and it was such an
I love it all!
She is happy and loves her newest companion--Hermana Riddle! Looks and sounds like they get along so well. I got a few short videos this past week, and the two are having fun together! I am so excited that we get to meet Hermana Riddle's whole family as we have invited them up for dinner this upcoming Sunday! Will be fun to share stories and photos! Her mom also sends me any extra photos/videos that pop over randomly on their iCloud account--so awesome!
I know this is just a short view of all these girls do in a week, but its so nice to hear a little snapshot of whats going on. I LOVE TECHNOLOGY! EMAIL WAY BETTER THAN SNAIL MAIL!!!
