This week we had an awesome Ward activity! We recreated the story of Lehi's dream from the Book of Mormon. There was thread around the whole chapel, representing the iron rod, there were temptations, and the Primary room was a dark maze that represented the mists of darkness. It all ended in the gym where the Tree of Life was. It was a tree made out of white glowing balloons, and there was a great and spacious building. It was pretty cool, I really felt like I was living the dream in real life!
Last night was all the Hermanas very last Charla Fogonera (fireside), so there were so many people from all the wards that came. It was so great to see everybody from the other wards I have served in. I even got to see Mario and he told me that he got to bless the sacrament that day, Awww!! So cute!
Today we went hiking in Great Falls, it was so pretty! Virginia is such a gorgeous place. I love being out in nature and enjoying all of God's creations.
Wish me luck, because next week, I will have a brand new companion straight from the MTC!
Con amor, Hermana Peabody
Fun to see Ashley at Great Falls Park--Mom's old stomping grounds. Actually, there are only two entrances to the park (on the Virginia side) and one of them was on the road I lived on!
Well, another busy week for Ashley, and this one is going to change the feel of the mission for the Hermanas! Six of the eleven are going home! Ashley said on one hand, she wishes she could go home with all these great companions/friends of hers, but on the other hand, she is so happy to stay and still have three months left on her mission!
Ashley will say goodbye to her "Tri-panionship" (as one of the Moms called it,) and begin again with a new companionship as a trainer of a newbie from the Missionary Training Center (MTC.) Ashley is excited (and nervous) as she gets to meet a new, eager Hermana, but hopes she will be a good trainer for her new companion! I am certain that Ashley will do a great job as a trainer! Ashley had a wonderful example from her trainer, Hermana Moberly, and has had wonderful companions throughout her mission who have been great examples and friends to her! Now it's her turn to teach the ropes, and hopefully gain a few new great friends with these new five Hermanas who are arriving!
Next week, we will find out who Ashley's new companion is and hopefully get back to some great detailed emails--but I'm not holding my breath on that one--I'm guessing that training is going to be just as busy!
