Ok, this week was super fun!!!
So, the Visitors Center at the DC Temple gets SUPER busy during the holiday season, so Sisters from other missions get to come and help! Saturday was our assigned day to go help at night. Hna Pettit went to a baptism, but I got to go with some other Sisters and it was also the Sudley Sisters' day as well, so I got to see them too! We all got paired up with a Visitors Center Sister or Hermana to be our new companion for the night. I was companions with Hermana Bosque, and she is awesome! Her mom is from Mexico, so she already knew Spanish and she is a rockin missionary. I actually met her before when I went to the Visitor Center with Ashley. It was so fun to be a Visitor Center missionary for a day. I even got to wear an American flag under my nametag! It was amazing to just work there, so close to the temple, you really can feel the Spirit so strong! There were so many people and so many willing to at least listen to us teach. I saw so many people that I knew as well!! I saw the Gonzales Family from our ward, three investigators I had met from different areas during exchanges, a Senior couple from our mission, and a whole bunch of other members I knew from other wards. The lights were beautiful, but it really is nothing in comparison to Temple Square. Hopefully we get to go back this week!
Oh, something that Hna Bosque taught me, I would like to share with you all. If you haven't seen the Christmas Message the Church put out yet, watch it now! it is called A Savior is Born. When the video first came out, I was actually pretty disappointed. It seemed like it was missing something and it was not as good as last year's. However, the man who created this video came to the visitors center and explained it to the missionaries there, before it came out. Hna Bosque told me that the video actually IS missing something...they took out everything commercial about Christmas, all the snow, gifts, everything--until all that was left was CHRIST! Christmas is all about Christ, nothing else. Now I understand the video a bit more and I really do like it. I am so grateful for this holiday season to think about all that the Savior had done for me. I truly love Him. I am so grateful that God loved me enough to send His Son to save us all.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Beautiful message from my missionary!
This was a short letter week and Ashley only sent the one photo of the Washington DC Temple. (The other Christmas Tree photo above, with Hna Pettit, is from last week.) Ashley thinks she will get to go again to the Temple Visitor Center this week, and she for sure gets to be there on Christmas Eve with the Sisters' Missionary Choir. I sure hope someone will be able to video that singing for me!
On Tuesday, Ashley will find out if she gets to stay in her current area, or gets transferred to a new area. If she gets transferred, she will be able to send a quick email with her new address. Mom is waiting to send Christmas packages, until I know if she is staying or transferring.
Today is also Ashley's 11 month mark! Wow--time flies. Before we know it, she will be coming home.
