Well, this has been a pretty crazy, almost two weeks! We had to change our p day, so it had been a LONG time since we have had one. This past week and a half has been long and hard, but I have seen SO MANY MIRACLES!
Last Tuesday was so awesome, I got to go to the temple with Hna Mensinger and Ashly for her first time going into the temple doing baptisms for the dead. It was so great to see her again and lots of other youth from that Ward! Ashly loved it, and it was incredible to see how well she fits in with all the youth now! We have also been able to find more investigators, including an amazing family! They just let us in and we were able to teach the whole restoration! Not only that, but one of the sons friends was there and she also seemed pretty interested, she asked if I had read the whole Book of Mormon in Spanish! As a missionary, I don't know if there is anything greater than just being able to teach the gospel. Teaching and preaching the gospel is such a privilege!
Another fantastic miracle this week was that one of our investigators that has really been struggling lately, asked us if he could be baptized!! It was so out of the blue, but such a tender mercy! And this Sunday I will hopefully be able to go to the baptism of a previous investigator!
Missionary work is really hard sometimes, but all the miracles big, and especially small, make it all worth it!
Lots of love, Hermana Peabody
Pics: Ashly and me at the DC temple, and a really cool family from our ward at a Mother's Day Ward activity.
This past week was Mother's Day, so we got our last Skype from Ashley! It was so great to see her, hear her, and even tease her a little. We are so excited to see her home soon. Ashley continues to love her mission, but also misses those friends who have returned home. We are glad she loves her new companion and know that both of them will keep the work going strong. The bond between all the Hermanas in the mission is strong and even the new ones will be a great part of Ashley's life forever. Although the last couple weeks seemed "long" for Ashley, she gets another Pday this upcoming Monday--so I'll be happy to hear again from her shortly!
I think Ashley would love to hear from anyone! I'm sure it's hard nearing the end of her mission, in trying to keep focus, but also getting excited to go home. I know she is also torn about the fact that she will be leaving so many friends there in Virginia! Send Ashley an email if you have a few minutes to root her on.
