Well this week has been a long one! We (Us and our neighboring English Sisters) moved our P Day to today so Hna Brown and Sis Frei could go to the temple. So Sis Ottoman and I get to spend the whole P Day together! Woot woot.
Wow it's really hard to remember what has happened, it was so long ago! But anyway, here are some highlights...
The Davis Senior couple invited all of the Sisters (and us Hermanas) to dinner, it was so good!!! They made their famous ribs, and wow, they didn't disappoint! Not often do we eat American meals, so it's go big or go home I guess!
We also had our interviews with our new mission president, he is pretty awesome. VERY different from President Riggs (I.e. He says D&C instead of Doctrine and Covenants), but I know I'm gonna like him! Unfortunately we weren't able to have our interview with Sister Huntsman because she had to leave. However, we are having an Hermanas activity next p day, and she is making lunch for all of us! I love her already!
We have still been having lots of lessons and finding new people, I LOVE preaching the gospel! It's the best!
Not so awesome things that happened:
I'm pretty sure the past few days have been 100% humidity... It's sooo hot, and basically feels like a sauna.
Hispanic fact of the week:
Hispanics are so humble and LOVE God! They love talking about God, and when they do you can just see in their eyes that they know he loves them. They always say "Primero Dios", which means God First.
Something I learned this week:
Something we talked about in our last district meeting was the Atonement. Man, I love the atonement, but we focused more on the ENABLING power, which is usually the part that people sometimes forget about. I found a quote from a talk that says, "if we exercise faith in the Lord, the enabling power of His Atonement strengthens us in our moment of need, and His redeeming power sanctifies us as we put off the natural man" which explains both parts. Sometimes we focus so much on the fact that with the Atonement, bad things can be made good, that we forget that good things can become even better! The enabling power of the atonement allows us to reach our full potential, to do things we normally couldn't do, and to be who we need to be. We can try to pull our own wagons ourselves, but only when we are yoked with the Savior can we do things we never thought were possible!!! Sorry this is in Spanish..."Venid a mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, y yo os haré descansar. Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón, y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas. Porque mi yugo es fácil y ligera mi carga." - Matthew 11:28-30
President Hunstman asked me what I have learned on my mission so far, I told him that I have already learned so much and have changed so much! He told me that the best is yet to come! I can't wait!
I love you all!
¡Nos Vemos!

Well, it is always hard to wait a couple days extra when P Day is moved, but it's usually worth the wait. Wow! I learn something from her every week! Love that girl (but I know I'm partial!)
The group photo below is of Ashley's whole mission just before President Riggs left. Can't wait to get another one with President Huntsman.
Ashley's 20th Birthday is coming up on August 11th and Mom has already sent her package--want to make sure she gets it, just in case she gets transferred on the next transfer, but I have a feeling she will stay in her same place for now. Ashley would love a letter if you feel up to sending one!
