Email Conversations between Mom and Ashley (Hermana Peabody):
Mom:
Yay! Our world came to you!! Take lots of photos and be careful. Enjoy the snow. Mom
Ashley:
We were told that we have to email our parents to let you guys know we are alive! The elders that live near us walked with us to the church. We had a lesson last night and a few today. There is nobody on the road, we actually walked on the highway to get here because it is the only thing that is plowed. We have been studying, cleaning, and watching church movies a lot. :)
Mom:
So awesome! Love it. I knew you were alive and well--this is old hat for you. Love you Mom
This was an extra email the missionaries were all allowed to send regarding their safety after the BIG snowstorm in DC of January 2016! This all basically began just after Ashley was transferred to a new area--Centreville, but the same ward she started her mission in--Sudley! Now she is also companions with Hna Atkinson! The area Ashley lives in and the surrounding towns, including Washington DC proper, all received anywhere from 2-3.5 Feet of snow!
