Grandpa (Horne) sent me a letter this week asking where my investigators are from. Sometimes I forget that the only thing you know about my mission life is from what I tell you… well in the area I'm in now, most of the people are from El Salvador. Our Ward Mission Leader is from Puerto Rico. (Also, he told us that he is MOVING TO UTAH in December!!!! We (Hna Riddle & I) are going to hang out with him all the time when we get back!!!) One of our favorite members is from Bolivia, she always feeds us food from Costco, there are a bunch of people here from Guatemala, Peru, and Honduras. Our favorite family, the one that let us Skype at their house, are from Argentina, so they have really cool accents.
We had exchanges this week, so I got to see Hna Moberly. Exchanges are awesome, I always learn so much! We also had an awesome service project for the Police and Fire Games that are being hosted in Fairfax. We stuffed bags for like 4 hours! But it was totally worth it because we are going to get t shirts! The weather has been fluctuating between nasty hot and humid and dumping buckets of water, but still nastily hot and humid. However the fireflies are here and they are awesome. I remember catching them last time I was here in Virginia, however many years ago that was.
We met with the Torres family again, they are so busy, but we are going to the Temples Visitor Center with them next week! Im so excited, because that will be my first time ever!!! They are still awesome, the boys are totally ready to be baptized, so is the dad, but the mom needs more time. We are working on it.
This week I learned more about the importance of the sacrament, I had no idea how important church attendance and the sacrament was before my mission. One thing I really love that President Riggs said a while ago was that he no longer goes TO church, he goes to the church building TO worship his Savior. Church attendance is a commandment along with Thou shall not kill or commit adultery, so why do people take it so lightly? Not only is church so important, but our attitude is crucial. If we go to church physically, but our hearts are not there, it is like you didn’t go at all. "For behold, God hath said a man being evil cannot do that which is good; for if he offereth a gift (sacrifice of time to go to church), or prayeth unto God, except he shall do it with real intent IT PROFITETH HIM NOTHING." so I invite you to think about why YOU go to church. Do you go to socialize with friends, because you are being forced to but really would rather not go, because that is just what you do on Sundays? Or do you go to church to show your love and gratitude to the Lord for his sacrifice for you?
Sorry this is all over the place. Busy busy. I love you all, Virginia is awesome-- minus the humidity.

Ashley loves working with Hermana Riddle and is thinking it may possibly be time for Ashley to get transferred in a couple weeks, but doesn't want to leave Hermana Riddle! We will just have to wait and see what happens. President Riggs is leaving for home and her new Mission President, President Huntsman is coming and surly will also be great. Ashley HATES humidity but LOVES fireflies, as well as any dog she runs into!
