¡Feliz Navidad a Todos!
This week has been super busy, but super great so here are the highlights...
First, I was able to go to one of my old investigators’ baptisms this week! It was so great to see Ana and Sharon take this step and follow the example of Christ. Hna DeBry and I knew they were going to get baptized from the first time we met them, they were so prepared. They are a mother and daughter and I know they will be amazing members! It was such a miracle to be able to see them.
Second, we had our mission Christmas conference and it was so good!! We had some good speakers and we even had someone from LDS Services come to talk to us. I actually really enjoyed it and learned a lot. It felt like we were back in school--that was weird. After the spiritual part, we ate lunch and had a talent show. I don't think I have ever laughed harder! President Huntsman had a hotdog eating contest with 4 other elders, and he won! As a Spanish Program, we all
borrowed authentic clothes from members all around the mission and sang Feliz Navidad. It was super fun.
Next, I bet you can't guess where we went...the Visitor’s Center again! We have been so many times to work and to bring our investigators. I love the Visitors Center. I love being so close to the temple. We plan to go at least 4 times this next week.
Our Ward had our Ward Christmas party this week and a lot of our investigators came! Two of our younger male investigators came, so when the music came on we "forced" two of our younger female members to dance with them...oh my gosh it was hilarious. That is what you call fellowshipping! They definitely took one for the missionary team, but it was good because now they feel comfortable with the church.
We also had an amazing miracle this week. We went to an Investigator’s house (who) we haven't really been able to teach yet because she is so busy with work. We just had a quick visit to drop off our Christmas card, but after we said a closing prayer she said that she felt something really good that she didn't know how to describe. She said that she feels this peace and something different
every time we come over, and that ever since we have been coming over,
she has felt a change in herself. We have definitely noticed it. The first time I met her she was pretty closed off, but now she seems so much happier. The spirit was so strong, and that was an incredible experience for us.
Sometimes I forget just how important my calling is as a representative of Jesus Christ. I want you to know that I know that Christ was born into this world to be our Savior and Redeemer, and that only through Him (can) we have eternal life and be truly happy. I have loved being a full time missionary during this Christmas season, it helps me remember how simple it really is. The spirit of Christmas is really just the spirit of Christ. I hope that you all can focus more on Christ this Christmas season.

Ashley's second and third baptisms this past week--so awesome! And another scheduled for January 17th!
We missed Ashley at our annual family Christmas dinner/party, but she is having a wonderful experience on her mission and is loving being there at Christmastime and serving the Lord!
This week, on Christmas Eve, Ashley will be singing at the Washington DC Temple Visitor's Center and I'm hoping someone will video it for me and all the other missionary moms! I've done my best to try and recruit someone, so we will see if it has worked!
We get to have a Skype conversation with Ashley on Christmas day, so will find out how she sounds and looks LIVE! Going to be great!
