"This week went by super fast! And its has been crazy! Who knew that you could become so close with a bunch of strangers in six weeks or less, so close you become a family, and then you have to leave them, and a lot of them you will probably never see again!! Its super sad, i love my district and zone! I guess this is kind of like a piece of what people without the knowledge of the gospel feel like, they believe that when people in their family die, they will never see them again. Its super sad! It makes my want to tell everyone that they can live with their families for siempre!!! All of our teachers tell us that we have to contact people in the airport, im a little nervous, but at the same time i think to myself, why am i nervous its not like i will ever see that person again, who cares if they dont like me, why should i care about what other people think of me. It is easier said than done, but i want to really try so come out of my shell and be outgoing and talk to people about the gospel. It is super weird, but everything the missionaries do is weird. Im excited for DC, and nervous, but in relief society there was a good quote, }You dont have to see the whole staircase to take the first step".
"Also a pic of me and E Mickelson, our elders gave everyone a blessing before we left, i asked mickelson to give me mine. He was super nervous and he is a goofy kid, but when he gave the blessing i could totally tell that he was being directed by the spirit. He gave a great blessing and told me that i would have exito in my mission amongst other things. when the blessing was over, he was so shocked, he was like Guys, that was real! That was the first time i actually knew what to say, the spirit was telling me what to do! He was so cute. All the hermanas and elders got blessings, it was really cool. A church that trusts young men and women to preach the gospel, and they actually do a good job at it, is the true church."
Ashley said she is sad to leave such great friends she has made but is also excited to get to DC! They had their piñata party this week, although Ashley was sad her fun creation had to be destroyed--all for the greater good--CANDY! Ashley's district and others dressing in coordinating colors in honor of Valentines Day! Ashley learned a valuable life skill while serving in the laundry--how to fold a fitted sheet! Ashley enjoyed her last package sent my Mom--Oreos, Root beer and Crayons! Mom is excited to get a sneak call from Ashley tomorrow from the layover in Atlanta!
