I'm so sorry, my emails keep getting worse and worse! This week was
also pretty uneventful, BUT there were a few funny stories. First,
every transfer there is a Charla Fogonera (Fireside) for the Spanish
program where new and returning members bare their testimonies and
share a little about their conversion story. These are awesome to
invite all our investigators to, so all this week we invited EVERYONE
and their dog to the charla. Saturday night (the day before the
charla), we realized that we hadn't received any texts about it, like
if we had any recent converts that wanted to speak, so we got a little
worried and made a few calls. I guess they forgot to tell us that the
Charla Fogonera had been canceled! So we had a few people that said
they would be able to go, but now there was no charla! We were going
to try to put together some type of meeting on our own, but it didn't
work out :( the good news is that now we know who is serious about
learning and we can visit them personally this week! Wow, life of a
missionary!
Also, we realized this week that our life is like a Hispanic novela!
Everyone we know is connected in a crazy way. So...one of the members
we know is friends with two of our investigators that we found and
they don't know each other. One of those investigators is also friends
with a different investigator that is friends with a different member,
it's super hard to explain, maybe I'll draw a picture. Anyway, we
heard from a member that there was a high school student that was shot
in an area that we work in last week, and this week when we were
visiting a "gator" we found out that the boy was shot in the
neighborhood that we were in at that moment, that he was related to
and lived in the house of one of our investigators, AND that he was
the ex-boyfriend of a different investigator!!! So ya, basically we
could make a TV show of our life!
This week I learned about the power of prayer, it is incredible how
the quality of your prayers influences your whole life!!! I love going
to one of the best examples of prayer in Enos. He gave everything he
had to God in his prayer, and as he exercised faith he gained more as
he recorded answers to his prayers.

I love this girl. She's is having a good time on her mission. I thinks she gets so busy that it is hard to send detailed emails, but I'll take what I can get. I also love any photos she sends. This week, one of her missionary friends had a birthday and she made a shirt for her. She took a great photo of a big rainbow and she sent me her "desk area" shot--love it (but that's cause I'm her mom!)
We got to have dinner with Ashley's MTC companion who is home now and heard about some details of their experiences that you just can't get in emails! Was so great to see Hermana Evans and her family. Ashley had also hoped that Hermana Evans could meet Roxy (our dog) one day, and this happened yesterday. It was a blessing, because we had to put Roxy to sleep and send her to Heaven today. The photo I got with Hermana Evans and Roxy is sweet enough to post here on Ashley's blog! Ashley loved her Roxy and knew she probably wouldn't see her again. Ashley sent these last words for Roxy, knowing about today's event: "Bye Roxy, I love you Pup." We are sending Ashley a "Roxy package" this week.
